Kröken
Our base camp is Kröken. This former farmhouse was build around the year 1800 in the hamlet of Emhult.
The farm has been carefully restored to its original state. Only a part of the renovation which was carried out in 1920 still remains.
The kitchen has been installed with high quality equipment. Beside the main building we’ve build a new building where showers, toilets and a real Finnish sauna are located. In the garden we have a real wood heated hot tub.
In Kröken we’ve 24 guest beds split up over 2 rooms, 10 double beds and 4 single beds. Each room is divided into nice sleeping corners, separated by cabinets where you can put you’re clothes. Beside this we have an extra room, with 2 beds, available for group leaders.

Back to basics ! It's possible in our 200 year old torp. A cottage in the middle of the forest. No electricity, no running water, no neighbours. Only forest, berries, a running creek.....
The cottage has a small kitchen, a nice living room with open fire and 1 bedroom with double bed and place for 2 extra beds. In the outhouse we have a real Finnish wood burning sauna.
The kitchen has a refrigerator and cooker on gas and a woodstove. Lightning is given from oil lamps and candles.
You will find a nice swimming place 3 km from the cottage and in Kröken you can rent mountain bikes and canoes.
Price 2012:
High season (June 16 - August 18): 3 700 SEK/week
Low season ( April 12 - June 18 and August 18 - November 10): 3 150 SEK/week
Extra Bed: 250 SEK7bed
(Saturday - Saturday, incl. sheets, firewood and gas)
